Professor Steven Salaita’s Public Lecture “Palestine in Native American Poetry”

In solidarity with the TA strike, we are moving Steven Salaita’s lecture, on Friday, off campus. Professor Steven Salaita’s  talk on “Palestine in Native American Poetry,” will now be held at Trinity-St Paul’s Centre, 427 Bloor St W (just west of Spadina).  Friday 2:00-4:00 pm.

Professor Steven Salaita is an independent scholar and writes frequently about Arab Americans, Palestine, Indigenous Peoples, and decolonization. He is the author of six books: • Anti-Arab Racism in the USA: Where it Comes From and What it Means for Politics (2006) (Winner of 2007 Gustavus Myers Center for the Study of Bigotry and Human Rights’ “Outstanding Book” Award) • The Holy Land in Transit: Colonialism and the Quest for Canaan (2006) • Arab American Literary Fictions, Cultures, and Politics (2006) • The Uncultured Wars: Arabs, Muslims, and the Poverty of Liberal Thought (2009) • Modern Arab American Fiction: A Reader’s Guide (2011) • Israel’s Dead Soul (2011)
