CALL FOR PAPER
Internal and external changes. Movements outside, beyond, or within. Our annual conference explores the theme of trans– in any of its forms. Particularly of interest are explorations of the relationships between movement, position, and change. What mind shifts are required with trans– shifts? In transition, what is lost and what is gained? Given the necessity of translation to orient ourselves in our global world, how can we come to terms with the unreliability of words that are themselves displaced? In times of increasing mobility and placelessness, how can we ensure the transmission of meaningful information between generations and across borders?
The organizing committee of this conference invites all contributions that respond to the need to think about trans- as a subject and as a prefix in our disciplines and in our world. Possible topics for presentations include, but are not limited to:

We invite joint proposals for panels/roundtables as well as proposals for individual talks. Proposals should be a maximum of 250 words. Individual talks should be approximately 20 minutes in duration and altogether, panels/roundtables should not exceed 90 minutes. If you are participating in a roundtable, please be prepared to speak for no more than 10 minutes in order to facilitate discussion. We also request that you include a biographical statement of no more than 50 words. Our submissions deadline is October 9th 2015.

Changements internes et externes. Mouvements vers l’extérieur, au delà ou en dedans. Ce colloque explore le thème de « trans- » sous toutes ses formes, encourageant l’exploration des relations entre mouvement, position et changement. Quelles réorientations de la pensée sont requises par les déplacements qu’implique le préfixe « trans- »? Qu’est-ce qui est perdu ou, au contraire, acquis dans la transition? Si la traduction permet de nous orienter dans ce temps de mondialisation, comment faire confiance aux mots qui sont eux-mêmes en constant déplacement? Devant la mobilité grandissante et la possibilité de n’être attaché à aucun lieu, comment assurer la transmission d’informations significatives d’une génération à l’autre et par delà les frontières.
Le comité d’organisation de ce colloque invite les contributions qui répondent à la nécessité de penser au « trans- » comme préfixe ou comme sujet dans nos champs disciplinaires et dans notre monde. Les sujets peuvent inclure sans s’y limiter :

Nous invitons les propositions, d’un maximum de 250 mots, pour des ateliers ou tables rondes, ainsi que pour des présentations individuelles. Les présentations individuelles seront d’environ 20 minutes. Les ateliers et tables rondes ne devraient pas dépasser 90 minutes. Si vous participez à une table ronde, veuillez limiter votre intervention à 10 minutes afin de favoriser les échanges. Nous vous prions d’inclure une biographie d’un maximum de 50 mots avec votre proposition. La date de tombée est le 9 octobre 2015.
