A workshop for faculty and graduate students
Time: Saturday, September 28 – 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Organizer: Professor Martin Revermann
Equally aimed at (and run by) faculty and graduate students, this workshop seeks to address, at a pragmatic and hands-on level, issues to do with the pedagogy of graduate learning in the Humanities at the University of Toronto. Based on a set of lead questions, the presenters have chosen topics that will identify challenges, best practices and perspectives for graduate learning not just in their own disciplines but across the Humanities. This, we hope, will enable both faculty and graduate students to make better and more informed choices when it comes to their own work in the graduate seminar environment or in supervisions. In addition, we hope this workshop will initiate fruitful and constructive further discussion in all contexts and at all levels, and contribute to improving the learning experience at the graduate level for everyone involved.
